Before you ask
Who exactly counts as a first responder or teacher?
Police officers, firefighters, EMTs and paramedics, dispatchers, and licensed K-12 teachers are all in. If your job serves the public and you're not sure you count, text us and ask — we'd rather say yes.
Do I need anything to prove I qualify?
Just something simple at the inspection — a military ID or DD-214, a department or school ID, or paperwork showing this is your first home purchase. No forms to mail in ahead of time.
What if I don't qualify? Can I still get tested?
Absolutely. Meth testing is a standard add-on to any inspection — the free program is simply how we thank these four groups. Call or text and we'll add it to your booking.
How does the testing actually work?
During your inspection we take surface swab samples from key areas of the home and send them to a lab for analysis. Your results are included in your digital photo report with a plain-language summary of what they mean.
What if the test comes back positive?
Then you found out before closing — which is exactly the point. You'll have documented lab results to take back to the negotiating table, and our D's Deals contractor list includes pros who handle what's next.
